Information – Imported plants

This plant comes from a recent import. Some plants may require an acclimation period and may need to partially or completely rebuild their root system after transport.

Proper care is essential during this phase (watering, humidity, temperature, light). Kay Orchid cannot be held responsible for losses related to plant recovery or growing conditions after delivery.

How to choose the right orchid?

The first parameter to consider is temperature, as it is usually the most difficult factor to adjust to your daily conditions.

Cool (greenhouse, protected outdoor, garden): 5 to 22 °C
Intermediate (greenhouse, protected outdoor): 10 to 25 °C
Warm (greenhouse, house, apartment): 18 to 35 °C

Light – Without artificial lighting
(Reference point: distance from a window)

High: less than 50 cm
Medium: from 50 to 70 cm
Low: from 70 to 100 cm

From late February to early October, it is recommended to use a curtain or light shade if direct sunlight reaches the leaves to avoid burns.

Light – With artificial lighting (LED only)

I recommend using a lux meter application to have a reliable reference point. These values were measured directly at leaf level.

High: 7,000 to 10,000 lux
Medium: 3,000 to 6,000 lux
Low: 1,000 to 3,000 lux

Always follow the manufacturer's recommendations to avoid damaging your plants through burns. Kay Orchid cannot be held responsible for incorrect use.

To get started, you can visit ORCHID INFO for watering and repotting advice.

Once temperature is selected, adapt the light accordingly. Watering and maintenance will mainly depend on these first two parameters.
