My fertilizer has turned liquid!

Waa waa, my fertilizer is liquid.

Okay, when are we going to talk about the word hydrophilic? Let's go!

I've seen hundreds of photos of fertilizers turning liquid, but why?

The primary reason is that almost no one reads the instructions and fully understands what's written, which is normal because people are in a hurry.

Then there's the other category, the curious ones who are already reading this article and are starting to take notes to apply it properly and learn from their mistakes (I'm joking because I want to reassure everyone, we've all made mistakes, myself included, otherwise I wouldn't be writing these lines).

Let's get back to our topic, our powdered fertilizer that turns into a paste or even liquid, why is that?

A powdered fertilizer is mostly made up of salts. These salts attract water, just like the blocks we use to remove moisture in homes.

So, when you open your fertilizer, even briefly, it will absorb moisture. If it's stored in a humid environment, it's the same story. What can you do?

The ziplock bag technique, as shown in the photo, works well. Even better, if you have a vacuum food sealer (for example, the FoodSaver, which is the one I have), it will systematically remove all moisture and prevent any problems!

And if my fertilizer is already liquid or pasty, what do I do? Trash it... and no more excuses for not using a ziplock bag!

See you soon!"
